Our Open Day 2012 will be on Saturday 25th August.
Our last open day in September 2011 was not well attended but we had nice conditions with nice visitors some of whom represented the G Scale Society www.g-scale-society.co.uk and North Wales Model Engineering Society www.nwmes.org.uk and The Old Mill Farmhouse Railway www.oldmillfarmhouse.co.uk
Visitors from as far away as Manchester, Wrexham and America,
Excellent running with no problems thanks to the two David’s.
The new G scale portable layout was also operating.
Visitors from a Rhos on Sea Hotel arrived today, our first coach trip, it was a rush to get everything ready and fortunately everything worked well except the ladies automatic toilet door on my new portable layout.
More rolling stock arrived today in the form of four Aristo streamline coaches, despite their weight the Pacific hauls them up the garage gradient with no problems, just glad that I have a 10 amp supply to take the extra load.
The construction of the raised 5″ gauge railway across the front lawn is slow due to the continued cold conditions, however I have built a new point, a signal for Ty-Gwyn station and a removable section of track which will bridge the gap over the drive near the front gate. Not much running on the 45mm but have fitted a new Aristocraft 10amp controller to the inner track and a couple of rail clamps as an easy way to solve a continuity problem.
Hello I'm Geoff Powell, the Station Master of Colwyn Garden Railway. Welcomes to the Website. There's info to read and pictures to look at, but first let me draw your attention to the video section where you can take a ride on the train!
